Rebuilding the Tabernacle of David

pastrI’ve been teaching for the last 4 weeks on “Rebuilding the Tabernacle of David”.  The scripture the Holy Spirit highlighted to me about a month ago was – Acts 15: 13 – 18.  There was a huge theological debate going on in the Church over doctrinal issues (somethings never change). After everyone had there say then James, the Pastor of the Church of Jerusalem stands up and quotes an Old Testament scripture from Amos 9: 11 & 12.  How God would build again the Tabernacle of David, rebuild it’s ruins and set it up.  I began to ponder on this asking this question – “Why the Tabernacle of David, why not the Tabernacle of Moses or the Temple of Solomon?”  As I prayed and pondered I realized the difference between the Tabernacle of David and the other two.  God gave the plans to man for the other two that included restrictions from His presence.  The Construction of the Tabernacle of David came out of the heart of a worshiper, a man after God’s own heart who’s greatest desire was to be with Him.  Isn’t that a great thought that God wants to rebuild the place where heart felt worship was taking place.  Totally designed by the man after God’s own heart.  I don’t know about you but that gives me some great insight to the priorities in the heart of God and reveals His true desires.
