Thought of the Week

I have been pondering this week the importance of staying refreshed in the Lord. Keeping yourself filled with the Spirit and full of the joy of the Kingdom of God.
When joy shows up it is very visible and changes all those who are touched by it. Being filled with the Spirit is being filled with joy. The Kingdom of God is said to be righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. You may say, “Why is this so important?” Jesus thought such an experience was very important. Here is what He said.
John 7:37-39
37 The Promise of the Holy Spirit
On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
NKJV
Thirsty is a spiritual state of wanting more. More of what God has to offer for you, your family and your generation. Jesus said the answer was to drink. Drink of His presence, drink of His Word, Worship Him until you sense His great presence filling and fulfilling you. The immediate result is it blesses and refreshes you. The bigger result is it creates a river of living water that flows out of you and blesses and refreshes those around you.
Lets become conduits of joy and the power of God touching a generation that is so thirsty for what we have. Stay thirsty and drink much so you will have to flow out for others.
